A loud thunk is followed by an eerie silence
Encyclopedia Brown: Oh no! Sounds like the cat is in trouble! I better hurry.

Police: Hi sir, there's been a murder reported nearby. Have you seen anyone suspicious?
Encyclopedia Brown: Shhhhh. Be quiet for a second, so I can get this cat out of this tree.
Police: If you see any masked murderers, just don't be a hero okay? Just run away.
Masked Man: (runs by)
Encyclopedia Brown: Hey, you!
Masked Man: ...
Encyclopedia Brown: Can I borrow that knife? I need to cut some of these branches to get the cat out of this tree.
